Terms & Conditions

Please read the following Terms and Conditions. Feel free to call us with any questions. Under these Terms and Conditions, it is agreed upon that the registered/legal owner of the vehicle(s), or a specifically authorized person transporting the vehicle(s), shall hereafter be referred to as “Shipper” and Auto Ship Transport referred transporter shall hereafter be referred to as Carrier. This order is subject to all Terms and Conditions of the Carrier’s straight Bill of Lading.

1. DOOR-TO-DOOR SERVICES:

All services are door to door (See FAQ’s for more information) unless other arrangements are made by the Shipper. The Shipper is responsible for the accuracy of the pick up and delivery addresses. Moreover, the Shipper is also responsible for locations to be safe, legal and easily accessible for the (transport) Carrier.

2. AUTHORIZED SHIPPER:

Shipper confirms that he/she is the registered legal owner of the vehicle(s) or has been authorized by the registered legal owner to enter into said agreement for transportation of described vehicle (s). If a driver cannot get close enough to safely load vehicle(s), it is the Shipper’s responsibility to have vehicle moved to a safe location where the driver can safely load onto a carrier.

3. INSPECTION:

Inspection reports are completed for each vehicle by the driver in Shipper’s presence (or the presence of an authorized representative). Any scratches, dents, etc will be noted by our representative on the Bill Of Lading (B.O.L) at origin. The same procedure will be completed once the vehicle reaches destination. The CARRIER is solely responsible for the vehicle once in his/her possession. Each carrier is insured up to $100,000. Auto Ship Transport is not responsible for the payment of any damages or repairs.

4. ALARM SYSTEMS:

Shipper is responsible to completely shut off any installed alarm systems and provide Auto Ship Transport with any tools or keys necessary to disarm the system if activated. In the event that the alarm system malfunctions and must be silenced, the Carrier is authorized to use any mean he/she deems reasonable and effective.

5. AUTHORIZED SIGNATURE:

Signature of the Shipper or his/her delegated agent authorizes AutoShip Transport and its referred carrier to transport described vehicle (s) from point of pick up to point of destination as specified on the Shipping Order/Bill of Lading.

6. INOPERABLE VEHICLES:

An additional fee will be applicable to any non-operational vehicle, if not noted in quote.

7. PERSONAL BELONGINGS:

Carrier’s insurance does not cover the loss or damage to personal items and therefore will not be responsible for loss or damage to personal belongings. Any costs, damages, and/or or citations issued to a Carrier due to or caused by personal items in the vehicle will be the sole responsibility of the Shipper. Under no circumstances, can any item obstruct the driving visibility. Shipper must limit personal items to 120 lbs in trunk of vehicle. This is important because excessive weight may cause damage to vehicle.

8. DAMAGES:

The Carrier actually transporting the vehicle(s) shall be liable for any and all damage claims arising from the transport. The Shipper agrees to file all claims with such Carrier as identified on the bill of lading/delivery receipt and to bring any legal action for damages against such Carrier only. The Shipper agrees to release and hold Auto Ship Transport unaccountable from any such claims. Auto Ship Transport will furnish Shipper with name and phone number of Carrier used for transport and will assist Shipper in providing and other necessary information, should a claim arise.

9. DELIVERY:

Due to possible conditions beyond the control of the Carrier, such as traffic delays, weather conditions, etc., it is impossible for us to positively guarantee a delivery date. Therefore, Shipper accepts the condition that service is subject to delay.
